Body | La Cosecha 2004 - Dual Language Conferences Call for Presentations New Submission Date: July 28th, 2004 Date: November 17-20, 2004 Place: Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico The Planning Committee of La Cosecha 2004 invites proposal submissions to present at this year's dual language conference, to be held November 17-20 at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico. The purpose of the conference is to provide current theory, practice and discussion in order to: 1) enhance and expand the knowledge base and experience of faculty/staff developing and implementing dual language programs; 2) and, to educate a supportive community which advocates for effective educational programming. La Cosecha 2004 will focus on best practices and teaching methods for dual language classrooms. Presentations on content area methods and presentations for secondary dual language teachers are being particularly sought after. All proposals will be reviewed by a committee of dual language educators representing two-way immersion, heritage language, and developmental bilingual programs. Presentation selection will follow the expressed needs of past La Cosecha conference participants including parents and educators. All proposals must be submitted by July 28, 2004. Selections will be announced by August 15, 2004. At least one complimentary registration and Conference Dinner ticket will be provided for each proposal chosen. (See proposal form for details).
