The ACTFL Arabic SIG, in partnership with QFI, is pleased to announce that applications for the 2014 Dora Johnson Awards are now open. Awards will provide funding for Arabic educators in the amount of $1,000 to support attendance at the 2014 ACTFL Convention in San Antonio, Texas from November 21 to 23. The Awards are named for the late Dora Johnson, a lifelong supporter of Arabic language education.

Applicants must be K-12 Arabic teachers or administrators and members of both ACTFL and the Arabic SIG (or committed to joining both). Preference will be given according to the following criteria, in descending order:

* First-time attendees
* First-time presenters
* Presenters
* Presenters who have received a Dora Johnson Award in the past
