Thai scholar and AAS president Thongchai Winichakul will provide the keynote address. The conference will provide film screenings including Joshua Oppenhiemer’s The Act of Killing, with commentary by Indonesia experts. Events corresponding with WCAAS include a trip to Phoenix’s new Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) and the Phoenix Art Museum, with their superb Asia collections.
