Title | Project: Spanish culture and civilization |
Body | I just returned from taking a group of students to Madrid, Spain (with side trips as a group to Toledo, Avila, and Segovia; others took trips to Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba, and Barcelona) for a five week study abroad program and thought I would share a project that the students did while there. One of the classes, Spanish 130 (Civilization and Culture of Spain) was required to do a project entitled "A Visual Representation of Spain from Prehistoric Times to Present Day". The project entailed four groups of students, each group creating an 11-episode TV Program, with each episode focusing on a different time period. Each episode is a Power Point presentation, with the first slide after the title being an introductory video clip explaining the time period, following by 4-6 photos (taken by the students themselves) with audio descriptions, and concluding with a short video clip "signing off". A description of the project, as well as the projects themselves, can be found at: http://diversity.ds.psu.edu/Spain/Summer-2004/index.html The links are to the Power Point presentations and if you open them, they will open in your web browser (or should!). Then you will just need to use your right arrow key to move through. Gill, D. (27 Jun. 2004). Student Project in Madrid, Spain. Foreign Language Teaching Forum listserv.
