| Title | German-American Hall of Fame Student Scholarship Essay Contest |
| Body | From http://www.gamhof.org/scholarship.html The German-American Hall of Fame (GAMHOF) Board of Trustees is pleased to announce an exciting initiative, their 2014 GAMHOF Student Scholarship Essay Contest. With separate competitions for college and high school students, the essay contest will offer cash awards totaling $3,500 for the winning students in 2014. The two First prize winners will each take home $1,000, with Runners-up winning $500 each, and Third place winners earning $250 prizes. This year’s student essay contest asks each applicant to write an essay, in 750 words or less, about the impact of German immigrants and German-Americans on one of the 50 US states. Applicants do not have to write about their own home states. Be aware of the need to be chronologically accurate. The deadline for all applications is July 31, 2014.
