Here are two summer opportunities to improve your German skills, learn more about literature and culture, and refine your teaching:

The Deutsche Sommerschule am Pazifik, located in Portland, Oregon, is a German summer school offered through Portland State University. It is the nation's premier German immersion program and offers a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, a German MA program, and a one-week German teacher training seminar.

5-week total immersion program — 12 credits - June 25 – July 31
One-week Teacher Training - July 23 - July 31

The University of Rhode Island's "German Summer School" is located between New York and Boston, near various scenic beaches on the East Coast. We offer language and literature classes at all levels for three or six weeks between late June and early August. You can earn up to nine (transferable) college credits and also take the standard Goethe Institute Certificate Exams B1 and B2. The academic instruction is supplemented by a wide variety of language- and culture-related activities, such as workshops, films, lectures, games, and outings.
