The Illinois Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages Board and Conference Co-Chairs, Leslie Rathunde and Ellen Ericson, are excitedly planning for this year's 2014 Fall Conference. The theme "A Gallery of Strategies: Touch up your Professional Portrait" has been intentionally designed to help Illinois language educators prepare for the new PERA Teacher Evaluation system and to add new strategies that effectively move language learners towards greater language proficiency. Plan to attend October 24-25, 2014 at the Tinley Park Conference Center, Tinley Park, IL.

Start planning now to learn how you, as a language teacher, can improve your techniques and touch up your professional portrait in all four Domain areas. Why not plan now to add a new brushstroke to Domain 4 and become a presenter? You'll earn 8 PDs (Activity #18) and receive a year's free ICTFL membership. To submit a session, you'll need a title of 8 words or less, identify the learning outcomes for your session and activities planned with a description of no more than 75 words. Sessions are being sought that focus on advancing learning in the following areas: Planning, Learning Experiences, Performance, Feedback (Assessment), Collaboration, Learning Tools and Professionalism. All proposals must be submitted online by March 30, 2014.
