Title2014 Käthe Wilson Scholarship for High School German Students

February 15 is the deadline for applications for the 2014 Käthe Wilson Scholarship!

You are invited to nominate one student from your Delta Epsilon Phi chapter for the Käthe Wilson Scholarship.

Eligible candidates must be enrolled in a German class and be a member of Delta Epsilon Phi in good standing. Candidates must demonstrate interest in continuing their study of German, show evidence of school leadership, specifically in the German program, and have excellent character references. Applicants are asked to submit a letter of introduction to a host family, an essay explaining why learning German is important, what the student hopes to gain from the experiences in Germany and how participation in the German Summer-Study program will impact future life. A letter of recommendation from the applicant's teacher of German is also required.

The scholarship winner will participate in the AATG Summer-Study Program for High School Students, spending three weeks in Germany living with a host family, attending classes at a Gymnasium, and participating in excursions. The award includes program costs and international airfare from the departure city. Applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 18 at time of departure and a US citizen or permanent resident.

Completed applications must be sent as a PDF attachment to info at aatg dot org by the application deadline of February 15, 2014.
