Body | From http://primarysource.org/windows-to-the-islamic-world Windows to the Islamic World: Art, Architecture, and Music Four-Week Online Course Dates: November 6, 2013 – December 10, 2013 Participants in this course will learn about the key features of Islamic art, Arabic calligraphy, "Arts of the Book," Islamic architecture, and the music or "soundscapes" of Islam. Using online resources and readings, expert videos, and interactive discussion forums, participants will work together to expand their thinking about the history and influence of Islamic art and explore ways to integrate the study of Islamic art into their curriculum. Windows to the Islamic World is a four-session, asynchronous online course. Each week will include content readings, videos, web-based activities, and a facilitated asynchronous discussion — one that happens in a group discussion forum but at a time convenient for each individual over the weeklong session.
