It is the first study, to the best of our knowledge, that investigates such notions as personality, sociocultural competence, and emotional intelligence, as well as perception and expression of emotions in the L1 (Polish) and L2 (English), in relation to the immigrant context by using both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
