| Title | German-American Hall of Fame Student Scholarship Essay Contest |
| Body | From http://www.gamhof.org/scholarship.html The German-American Hall of Fame (GAMHOF) Board of Trustees is pleased to announce an exciting new initiative, the GAMHOF Student Scholarship Essay Contest. With separate competitions for college and high school students, the essay contest will offer cash awards totaling $3,000 for the winning students in 2012. The two First prize winners will take home $1,000, with runners-up winning $500 each. This year’s student essay contest asks each applicant to write an essay about an American of Germany ancestry that the student finds especially compelling. Then, the student will elaborate by writing about the subject’s impact on the United States, or a region or institution. The deadline for all applications is December 31, 2012.
