PYSANKA: The Ukrainian Easter Egg will be on display from March 1 through May 27. Drawn from the Museum's extensive folk arts collection, the nearly 300 eggs are decorated in a variety of regional styles, rich colors, and assorted motifs; many are the work of acclaimed artist Sofika Zielyk. For full details about the exhibition go to http://www.ukrainianmuseum.org/ex_120301pysanky.html Adults and children will have the opportunity to learn the art of making pysanky - Ukrainian Easter eggs. Dyes, beeswax and a stylus are used to decorate the eggs with traditional Ukrainian designs. Fill your Easter basket with beautiful pysanky, rather than just plain colored eggs!
