Typical tasks will include but not limited to: Home visits, attending meetings with families, helping families access district and community resources, and facilitating communication between schools staff and families. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Ability to communicate in a culturally and linguistically competent manner. * Demonstrate bilingual language proficiency (written/oral in Spanish and English). * An ability to prioritize tasks and to work independently. * Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with community members and district personnel. * Respect for confidentiality. * Knowledge or awareness of schools and/or the K-12 public school system. * Minimum High School Diploma. * Minimum 4 years working with the Latino (LEPs) Community. * High knowledge of social service system. Other: * Position will start April 5, 2004, and end June 30, 2005 * Salary is $31,850/year plus benefit package * 35 hours a week |
