Duties and responsibilities: The Department seeks to hire two faculty members at the assistant professor level in the area of second language acquisition to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the area of SLA, with opportunities to teach in other areas of the Department's curriculum as appropriate. Of particular interest are candidates whose research focuses on one or more of the following areas: acquisition of SL phonology; bilingualism in social and cognitive contexts; cognitive, sociocultural, neurological and ecological perspectives in SL learning; heritage language learners; identity and SLA; individual differences in SLA; instructed SLA; multilingual literacy development; technology and SLA; young learners. Minimum qualifications: Doctorate in second language studies, applied linguistics, or closely related field by August 2012.
