SCOLA digitally transmits four channels from the Telstar V satellite (97° W): Channel One: News; Channel Two: Documentaries & Entertainment; Channel Three: Chinese (PRC) Programming; and Channel Four: Less-Commonly Taught Languages. Channels One, Two, and Four include programs from nearly eighty countries. All programs are shown unedited and in the original language. SCOLA's mission is to help the people of the world learn about one another; their cultures, their languages, and their ideologies. SCOLA emphasizes the importance and effectiveness of modern information technology as a tool in overcoming barriers to global understanding and will remain at the forefront of its application. |
