You are invited to attend this meeing of the Oregon chapter of the National Association of Multicultural Education (OAME). For more information, contact Jioanna Carjuzaa at or call (503) 434-2238.
For more information on the National Association for Multicultural
Education, visit http://www.nameorg.org.

After much work on creating an Oregon chapter of the National Association of Multicultural Education, we would like to invite you to our first organizational meeting on Wednesday, March 10th from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in Salem. John Lenssen with the Department of Education has graciously volunteered the 1st floor conference room in the Vick Building for the meeting. Directions are provided at the end of this email.

The mission of OAME is to promote and support Education that is
Multicultural as a means of achieving the full academic potential of every learner in Oregon by 1) sharing knowledge and resources; 2) fostering an appreciation for diversity; and 3) advocating for educational equity.

Your input is critical in shaping our chapter. We hope you can join us. We encourage you to forward this invitation to your colleagues and other interested parties.

Please email me at jcarjuz@linfield.edu or call (503) 434-2238 if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Jioanna Carjuzaa
President

Directions to the Vick Building location:

- Take I-5 to the Mission Street/Hwy 22 Exit-EXIT 253.
- Take Mission Street to High Street.
- Turn right onto High Street.
- Turn Right onto Trade Street and immediately get into the left lane.
- The Vick Building is a Blue Building on the corner of High and Trade Streets.

Parking Suggestions:

1. A limited amount of visitor's parking space is available at the East side of the Vick Building. Take the 1st driveway on your left. Turn into the parking lot to the far left (along side the building). Visitor parking spaces are the spaces along against building. They are poorly marked, so any space against the building is fine. There is also street parking but the city patrols these spaces and will tag your car after 2 hours.

Pringle Parkade is located catty-corner to the Vick Building on High
Street. Turn right onto High Street from Trade (just before passing our building). The Parking garage is on the right-hand side. Visitor/metered parking is available on the first couple of levels.
