| Body | From http://blc.berkeley.edu/index.php/blc/post/ebflp_professional_development_programs_2011_2012 World Language teachers and credential candidates are invited to participate in professional development that Connects Teachers and Students to World Languages. Foundations for Effective Language Teaching I and Foundations for Effective Language Teaching II will be offered on five Saturdays. Topics include the new California Standards, communicative units that incorporate culturally authentic resources, and effective strategies to engage diverse learners. Foundations I and Foundations II will take place at the Berkeley Language Center in Dwinelle Hall on the UC Berkeley campus. Both programs meet on September 24, October 22, December 3, January 28, and March 3 from 8:00 to 3:30. The cost of each program is $250 with a 10% discount if you participated in EBFLP in 2009-10 or 2010-11. The application is due August 30 and payment is due by September 9.
