Advanced Indonesian Abroad for Graduate and Undergraduate Students, Teachers, Educators, Private and Government Personnels

The Consortium for the Teaching of Indonesian and Malay (COTIM) and Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) are now jointly planning a nine-week intensive program in advanced Indonesian, to be held June 13 – August 13, 2011, the thirty sixth such program in a continuous line of successful summer advanced language programs; hosted by several institutions in Indonesia and Malaysia. Funding for this program is contingent in large part upon receipt of funds from the United States Department of Education under the Fulbright-Hays group study abroad programs.

This program is designed to include three basic components: intensive language study in small groups five days a week for nine weeks, a one-week period for field work on individual research topics, and immersion in Indonesian culture through interaction with Indonesian students and residence in an Indonesian home.

There is Fulbright-Hayes fellowship support, which provides a substantial per-diem allowance are available to qualified applicants.
