Title6th Annual Japan Foundation Film Series

Each year, the Japan Foundation, New York organizes an annual film series at educational and cultural institutions in the US. Now in its 6th year, the series will rotate among a group of five institutions in the South and Asia Society in New York from September 13 through November 19, 2010.

The series will be devoted to Japanese Cinema in the 1960s, showcased with five films by five of the period's most exceptional directors:

Yearning (Midareru, 1964) dir. Naruse Mikio
Kwaidan (Kaidan, 1964) dir. Kobayashi Masaki
The Face of Another (Tannin no kao, 1966) dir. Teshigahara Hiroshi
Age of Assassins (Satsujinkyo jidai, 1967) dir. Okamoto Kihachi
The Fort of Death (Gonin no shokin kasegi, 1969) dir. Kudo Eiichi
