The grand prize is a $1000 package, second place is a $300 package, and two runner ups will each receive a $100 package. The total value of free books being given to schools is $1500. Packages include award-winning children’s graphic novels and titles designed to motivate reluctant readers. Graphic novels are gaining attention as an effective way to reach reluctant readers and at-risk students. They are also widely used in teaching ESL students.
