| Body | From http://www.aatg.org/prof-development/27-online-graduate-courses In the Fall of 2010 GOLDEN will offer a course entitled: Deutsche Kulturgeschichte Queerbeet. Taught entirely in German by Professor Christina Brantner, this course will allow participants the opportunity to review German cultural history beginning from the present and moving backwards in time. This course is designed for K-16 German educators as an introduction into the canon of German cultural history designed to expand teacher participants’ knowledge, thinking and perspectives while simultaneously providing access to materials that can be implemented into the German language classroom. A non-orthodox approach to German cultural history will place course participants in the role of weavers who investigate and construct threads that permeate German history through the lens of culture (film, art, literature). Taught completely online, this course is designed to expand a) teachers’ knowledge base about German cultural history b)interaction/collaboration, network with German educators c) German language proficiency through reading and writing tasks d) repertoire of Products, Practices and Perspectives that can be integrated into the German language classroom.
