TitleCelebrating the 150th Anniversary of the First Japanese Delegation to the US
Body
2010 marks the 150th anniversary of the first Japanese diplomatic mission to the US. The group of approximately eighty samurai diplomats arrived in San Francisco in 1860, stopped in Washington, DC via Panama, then went on to Baltimore, Philadelphia, and, finally, to New York.

Several commemorative events will be held to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the US-Japan relationship.
