TitleInteractive workshop for Junior High & High School teachers of French, German, and Spanish
Body
The West European Studies Center (WEST) at Indiana University is one of 10 National Resource Centers in America funded by the U.S. Department of Education, and their mission is to promote knowledge of Western Europe and the European Union.

This summer WEST will be hosting a summer language teachers workshop on "Seeing Western Europe through the Visual Arts.” This three day workshop is June 25-27. Designed for junior high and high school teachers of French, German, and Spanish, this hands-on interactive workshop will guide you in developing lesson plans that provide students unique insights on European cultural identity by exploring the visual arts and cultures of Europe. Indianapolis Museum of Art staff will talk about approaches to viewing art and we will tour the IU Art Museum. We will also have a special presentation by Frank Cammuso, political cartoonist and graphic novelist. Participants will work with fellow language teachers to develop creative and engaging lesson plans.

A non-refundable registration fee of $25 will cover your 2-night stay at the IU-Bloomington campus. More information can be found at http://www.indiana.edu/%7Ewest/outreach_k12workshop_2010.shtml .

The registration deadline is April 26, 2010.
