TitleDigital Library of Lao Manuscripts
Body
Digital Library of Lao Manuscripts (DLLM) officially launched a website to facilitate the study of Lao literature and culture for students and researchers around the world. The website aims to broaden access to traditional documents inscribed on palm leaf manuscripts. It is available in both the Lao and English languages and contains texts on Lao culture, literature, traditional laws and horoscopes, folk literature and stories.

This collection is by far the most extensive archived to date and can be seen as representative of the national literary heritage. It comprises some 500,000 frames, which on average contain about 6-8 palm leaf documents, giving a total of some 3-4 million recorded manuscript pages. More texts will be added regularly until the full collection of almost 12,000 texts becomes available in late 2010.

Those interested can access the website at http://www.laomanuscripts.net/en/pages/index.html
