| Title | Dual Language Charter School Principal Sought |
| Body | A new dual-language school in New Jersey, the Hoboken Dual Language Charter School (HoLa) is looking for a principal. HoLa is a new elementary school that will open with grades K-2 in September 2010 (a grade will be added each year through K-5). HoLa will offer a traditional core curriculum through instruction in both Spanish and English to children of all language backgrounds. The school will utilize the established Two-Way Immersion approach to dual language education with a range of opportunities for creative expression and experiential learning. Students will become bilingual and biliterate in a culturally diverse and nurturing environment. The School Director / Principal will serve a crucial role in the development and evolution of the school, as well as its integration into the community. The ideal candidate is dynamic and motivated, with strong leadership and communication skills. S/he has a strong foundation in elementary education, with an emphasis on literacy development. S/he is knowledgeable about dual language education, and committed to its goals and values. Qualifications must include NJ Supervisor Certification and NJ Elementary Education Certification. Bilingual/Bicultural Certification is preferred as well as a minimum of three years teaching experience in a dual language educational setting. Excellent English and Spanish language skills are required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: · Continued development of the school as new grades are added · Development and implementation of the dual language curriculum for each grade · Teacher hiring, supervision and evaluation · Coordination of professional development opportunities · Staff management, scheduling and daily operations · Coordination of student assessment and management of demographic data · Preparation of relevant reporting to the State DOE · School budget and purchasing · Coordination of enrichment and summer program · Coordination of special programming and events · Coordination and leading of bi-monthly parent meetings The School Director / Principal will be the first position filled, and will be provided a stipend to work with the administrative team during the Spring of 2010 to hire teachers and prepare for Year 1 (September, 2010); a full-time salary and contract will take effect after the planning period.
