Second China is a PC-based project which employs two technologies: the multi-user virtual environment (Second Life) and a semantic web knowledge base presented using text, image, audio, and video. The Second Life and web components are tightly integrated, with Second Life offering presence, collaboration, and engaging interaction and the web offering cultural knowledge delivery and browsing. The Second China Project is the collaborative research result of the University of Florida (UF) and the Technical Support Working Group (TSWG).
