Body | From: "Kazuko Ozawa" senseionline@yahoogroups.com> Dear Colleague, I would like to invite you to : The 18th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Language Teachers Association of New England (JLTA of NEW ENGLAND) Wellesley College, Massachusetts, June 12, & 13, 2004 The Conference this year is being hosted by Wellesley College in Massachusetts. Wellesley College is a beautiful college located in the suburbs of Boston-30 minutes by bus or train from downtown Boston. The topic of this year's conference is "Dynamic approaches to teaching Japanese " and we are fortunate to have as our special guest speaker MITSUKO HASE from Japan, a well known Performing Artist of Japanese Language. She will be performing on the first night and will give a seminar on the second day. Participants are welcome to submit presentation proposals. Presenters will be expected to discuss ways to improve the teaching of Japanese at both the pre-college and the college levels. Pre-college teachers are strongly encouraged to apply. Papers may be presented either in Japanese or English, and each presentation should be 20 minutes long with an additional 5 minutes for discussion. An abstract to be submitted with the proposal should be no more than one page in English or Japanese. The deadline for the proposal is March 12, 2004. Abstracts may be submitted either by e-mail (kozawa@wellesley.edu) or by regular mail to Professor Carol Morley, Japanese Department, Wellesley College, 106 Central Street, Wellesley, MA 02481. The conference will start at 12:30 Saturday June 12, 2004 and end at around 3:00 Sunday June 13, 2004. We do hope you will be able to join us.
