TitleProject Opportunity: Children's Foreign Language Curriculum Consultant

San Francisco-based Lango, which currently offers foreign language* classes for over 1,000 children ages 18 month-9 years in fifteen states, is seeking an experienced curriculum expert to evaluate Lango’s current curricular offerings and provide specific recommendations for future development, with the possibility of full curriculum development opportunities in the future. The consultant will work on a project basis for 3-5 weeks.

Responsibilities:

· Conduct a full review of Lango’s current curriculum and instructional approach, including reading all lesson plans and other documents and observing Lango classes, interviewing current Lango staff, teachers, students and students’ parents.
· Drawing on this review and the consultant’s own expertise, make specific recommendations for improvement and enhancement of current approach and curriculum and for future curricular development.
· Present these findings to senior staff from Lango and its parent company, Intrax Cultural Exchange.
· Possible: Develop new curriculum for Lango.

Qualifications:

· Extensive academic background in foreign language instruction, preferably to young children
· Experience teaching new languages to children
· Curriculum-writing experience is preferable
· Creative, flexible and hard-working
· B.A. is required; advanced degree in early childhood education, Spanish, French or Mandarin or other relevant subject area is preferred.

Project Scope and Compensation:

Estimated project completion time is 20-25 hours. Compensation will be project-based, accounting for consultant’s relevant experience, with payment made at key milestones. Compensation will include a bonus for timely and high-quality work.
