This webinar is the second professional development opportunity in the year-long series, *Ready for Success: Supporting DLLs in Head Start*. This multi-media series will help programs support the development and learning of dual language learners (DLLs), who are children speaking a language other than English at home. One-third of the enrolled children in Head Start and Early Head Start are DLLs. This Webinar will be divided into four 15-minute segments, each segment focusing on one topic related to DLLs. Topics include:

* Program Design and Management – ongoing professional development; using interpreters and translators; and involving parents who speak languages other than English in governance activities.
* Learning Environments and Responsive Curriculum – promoting children’s cultural and linguistic identity; supporting the home language and the acquisition of English; and social and emotional development.
* Supporting Families – learning from families and building on their strengths; and collaborating with community partners in serving diverse families.
* Q and A

Later in the year-long series, other topics will be covered including Assessment; Language and Literacy; and Multiculturalism and Diversity.
