Cultural backgrounds bolster content of language classes

Germantown High and Southwind High students are learning Spanish from native speakers this school year.

Shelby County Schools hired Vanessa Caja-Carreras and Jessica Conejo-Galan through a collaborative teach-abroad program supported by Spain's education embassy and several state education departments in the U.S. Under the program the teachers can work at the schools for up to three years.
