SEEKS JAPANESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE TEACHERS FOR JUNE PROGRAM

Youth For Understanding USA seeks QUALIFIED TEACHERS OF JAPANESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE to teach at our Japan Pre-Departure Orientation. The program is designed to prepare high school aged students for their summer home-stay exchange experience in Japan. Orientation classroom sessions are designed to integrate both culture and language.

Youth For Understanding USA, a non-profit educational organization, prepares young people for their responsibilities and opportunities in a changing, interdependent world. Today, YFU operates exchange programs in over 50 countries and has national and regional affiliates in more than two dozen countries. The worldwide YFU network is composed of hundreds of employees, several thousand volunteers, and more than 200,000 alumni. Each year nearly
3,000 students participate in YFU host family programs worldwide.

The orientation program is scheduled for June 10-22* and will be held in California at San Jose State University. Teachers are needed for either: June 10-22 or June 10-16. Lesson plans, teaching materials and training will be provided.

Qualified applicants must have experience in foreign language teaching, have
extensive living experience in Japan, speak Japanese fluently, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Modest stipend, travel reimbursement, and meals are provided.
